In 1975, the Minnesota State Legislature passed the Outdoor Recreation Act [Minn. Stat. Chap. 86A] to ensure the protection of Minnesota's resources. The Parks and Recreation Division's Park Planning Section was established to formulate long-range resource management and recreation development plans for state parks, recreation areas, and waysides. The files contain final or draft management plans and master plans for a selection of those properties. The plans include land descriptions, classifications, resources, maps, and correspondence.
